I am going to look at a 28' Double Eagle tonight. I don't know much about this make. Can anyone shed some light my way?
What to look for? I'll attach a picture below

I was told that its powered by a 351 with a 22r?trans feeding into a merc outdrive(I am not familiar with this setup) and that it needs a new control cable from the flybridge down to the lower helm.

Thanks,
Nathan

Re: Double Eagle Boats?

Welcome to the forum Nathan.
What I know about Double Eagle is that are very popular up here in the Pacific Northwest. They are regarded as a fairly heavy duty, well built boat and are popular with the local recreational fishermen.
They have not been known much for their appearance tho' and there designs often look a little dated. I recently saw a late model 18' (2002-2003) and it looks pretty much like a 1970's 18'er of theirs.
Regardless, they have a good reputation for their build quality but they come up a little short on appearance and style.
My two bits.
