I am looking to install the square adapter that my cannon downriggers attach to.

On my old boat they were attached to a piece of aluminum that went across the splash well.

I was going to attach them to the back part of the boat, about 8" in from either side. SO that when the bimi top is down, it will have room to lay flat.

Do I simply just drill four holes through the fiberglass and bolt them down? Or do I need to re - enforce them from under neath??

Thanks for anytips!! I just want to make sure ...

Thats what I was thinking.... Do they make some I can buy here, or just make some out of metal or aluminum?

Cut some 3/4 plywood or aluminum plate to fit underneath the gunnell and bolt them down
