Downrigger on engine deck?

Can I mount a downrigger the the back engine deck? Will it be strong enough to hold? It's a Glastron 205.

I am not sure exactly where you mean but if you use a backing plate it should be good. If the deck is strong enough to walk on it should be able to hold the downrigger OK.

You also have to be able to turn it to store and if it is a manual downrigger, you need to be able to easily reel it back in.
