I have a 1998 seaswirl with a 5.7 & DP-S drive, having trouble figuring out how much to trim the drive while underway. The boat seems to wander unless I trim the drive up, just not sure how much I can trim up before it causes damage to the u-joints. On my other boat with a 290 DP it had an indicator with a limit switch, this boat only has a gauge that shows trim all the way down to trim all the way up, the trim switch is on the control handle. How do determine the range of trim I have?
