I'm in the process of rewiring my dash, now at the point of the light switch. It is a center off, turn up for bow lights, and down for both bow and anchor lights. Mu quesiton is (after searching on the site for help), What is the exact wiring diagram for this switch? There are six prongs, I'm assuming the top is for bow, center for power, and bottom for anchor. I need some type of schematic, I'm a picture/diagram person. Thanks for any help, pfistey1

Pfistey1 - Note in Ralph's post that one position of that switch turns on just the anchor light, and the other position of the switch turns on both the anchor light and the running lights. The way you described your switch it was wired incorrectly. There is no need for just the bow lights (red/grn) to be on.

Re: DPDT Bow, Anchor switch help.

Thanks guys. With the picture I'm still a bit confused, I keep thinking of a SPST switch, real simple. Where are my grounds in this diagram or am I just blind. Second, my switch doesn't have illumination. That shouldn't pose a problem. pfistey1

Re: DPDT Bow, Anchor switch help.

You don't run your grounds through switches. You only break the hot leads...

A SPST would turn everything on or off and again, you only attach the positive leads.

A DPDT is what you need for your application. One position will turn on your mast light and running (Nav) light, the middle position shuts everything off. The other position just turns on your mast light.

If your switch has no illumination you use circuit diagram number 6.
