when a manufacturer lists the draft of a particluar boat say 34" (drive down) where exactly is that measurement taken from? <br /><br />I am considering buying a new boat and the draft is 34", the lake i go to often has about a 10 foot area at the end of a 1/4 mile canal which joins the lake and the marina (they didnt dredge far enough) where the water is about 2.5-3feet deep. Most people just hammer the throttle down once they clear the last boat and it gives them lots of time to get on plane before the go over the shallow spot.
