Winterizing for a friend of mine and I have read his manual and also a handful of threads here.
I stabilized fuel
going to run on muffs for 10-15 mins, shut down, change oil and gear oil, and fog cylinders. My question is whats the best thing to do drain the 4 carb bowls or not? AS the manual reads, the motor is self draining, correct?
I have ready many mixed reviews.
Boat will be stored indoors and unheated

It's always a good idea to drain the carb bowls from time to time just to remove any water, debris or whatever. When I have my drain plugs out I pump the primer bulb to flush float bowl with fresh fuel, let drain, replace plugs, good to go! Great preventive maintenance!

Thanks for the quick reply.......Also I have a gear lube pump I use for my Alpha drive and I noticed that the manual calls for Quicksilver (Merc) gear lube....Is it safe to assume my Merc gear lube pump will work?

Also I imagine it is the same procedure to refill.....fill from the bottom until gear lube comes out the top hole ?

Self draining refers to the cooling system, not the carbs.

I doubt the the Mercury oil pump will work on the Honda, metric vs standard threads. I bought an adapter for my Honda, now use it on the Yamaha.

Right...I was referring to the cooling...I read the manual and see the outline where you start with bowl/carb number 4 and move the hose from one carb to the next
