drain impeller housing for winter

I winterized yesterday, have done my own for 4 years no problems. For some reason I didn't follow my normal procedure. I normally backwash antifreeze into the 3/4" (approx) hose that goes to the outdrive (from the thermostat housing).
I removed the outdrive first this year then backwashed. I'm sure I'm fine but can somebody reassure me that the impeller housing is OK for the winter. I"m thinking it probably gravity drains but am not sure.

Thanks

DougV>

Assuming you have a Merc?? they do drain themselves just like an outboard as long as it was in the vertical postion.
