Drain plug hole

I have a 12 foot aluminium fishing boat that has no drain hole whats the best way to install one without makeing a bunged up mess out of it?

on my 14 foot jon boat I cut a 2 inch long piece of of tent post aluminum of course that a drain plug would fit in drilled a hole in the back of the boat and j-b welded it into place on both sides that was at least 10 years ago and it is still holding with no leaks or problems yet.
