Re: drain plug insert

Try here:
http://www.iboats.com/mall/index.cgi?prod_id=40717&current_category=drain tube&*******=624720029

To remove the old one, I would use a screw driver and carefully beat (tap) the old one into the middle of the hole. Start at the outer lip, being careful not to chip the gelcoat. Once you have the rim beaten into the center of the hole you can be a little more agressive at tearing it out with pliers and needle nose, as necessary.

I would use some 60/80 grit paper to clean the hole til the new one easily slips in. Measure and carefullu cut the tube til it just sticks thru to the other side. Apply a generous coating of a suitable waterproof epoxy, such as MarineTex, around the tube and the hole. Carefully rotate the tube til it seats. Wipe any excess epoxy from inside the tube and around the transom. Let cure, then fillet around the end of the tube inside the bilge.
