Drain plugs for a Merc 5.0 L 2000 Mercrusier and winterization

Hello all, thought Id get another opinion. I checked out my engine in my 2000 Sea Ray 5.0L MCM Mercrusier with a carb and a Alpha one Gen II stern drive.
My question is how many drain plugs should there be to winterize the boat and drain out the fluids. I have the manuals but they are not very specific and I want to be certain.

I found two on the port and two on the starboard side of the engine (I assume the manifold and engine blocks?) and one more in the front off the water circulating pump hose. Is that it? Are there any hiding? I do not want to make a mistake in winterizing.

I also like to know how critical is it to fog the cylinders thru the spark plugs as well as the carb? Access on the starboard side is a joke and I am concerned about removing them to do the fogging. Bad design with very very limited access. It is possible and can be done if necessary. Opinions?

Thanks Dirty Dawg

Without knowing what all the accessories you may have, I sure wouldn't want to be the one to say you have a certain number and where they are. Forget one, and that is a problem. Best bet, download the manual below and follow the draining procedures. It's the Mercruiser OEM service manual for your engine.

Don thanks for the response. I did download the manuals a few weeks ago, Thanks for that great link!!!!:D:D

The issue I have is that the manual is not very specific either. They review a few motors with different setups so verifying which is related to mine is difficult and confusing. I have been also told that the manuals may have errors in them as well.

According to the manual, the plugs I mentioned is all there is... But I am concerned since this is my first boat.

This is a used boat with a very limited info from the past owner. The boat has raw water cooling system and a separate fresh water system. Short off that, I do not see any other accessories. Anything else I should look for. Thanks Ike

Hello Bond-o . The manual does not, as far as I know, state anything about the power steering coole, only a fuel cooler if equipped.
Any sugestions as to how to drain the cooler?
Also how do I know if I have aa fuel cooler? Where do I look? I do not see anything between the fuel line and were it enters the fuel/water seperator.
Thanks Ike :)

Ayuh,...

The P/Steering Cooler is drained by pulling 1 of the Big Hoses off it....

The Cool Fuel is only used on the EFIs,... You have a Carb...
