Hi Chaps (me again!)

I notice a pull type lever along side the port side of my 2000 3ltr mercruiser for draining ! ?

I keep the boat on its berth in a saltwater marina, should I be doing something to drain something after every use?

Have purchased a manual but cannot find any info !

It has a couple of pipes attached to a plate with a T handle.

Can anybody please enlighten me and please excuse my ignorance on this matter,I have only ever run outboards until buying this boat.

Thanks very much from UK.

I am with Keith, I have no idea what you are talking about without a picture or a better description of where it is!

It's a single point drain system used for draining the raw water section. I got this out of the Mercruiser service manual.

No reason to drain after use, the wet and dry will cause more rust than just staying full of water. The big reason for it is when boating in cold weather, you can easily drain the engine to prevent freezing and engine damage.

Yep, total waste of money. Get the Mercruiser OEM manual, one for your drive, one for your engine. Then you will know EXACTLY how to fix your engine and drive properly.
