does anyone make a spout that screws on a regular 6 gal. Evinrude-Johnson fuel tank to drain it? tired of draining with a funnel and spilling gas all over. tried a syphon pump but it dose not get it all.

Many years ago that was a factory part.-----Removed the gas cap and installed the cap with a spout.----Not sure if they are available today.

I fill my tank froma gas can when the boat is at a slip with one of those plastic hoses with the ball bearing at 1 end. You shake the ball end and it creates a syphon then fill away. I'll be darned if I can remember the proper name. Simple and cheap at 10 bucks.

It’s called the Jiggler, but you can find knock-offs that work just as well. I found one at Walmart.

1. Google a vintage OMC Systematched catalog and get the part number for the OEM spout and then search E_Bay for a used one.

2. Go to the Dollar store and buy a plastic wash basin. Tip the gas can upside down and empty it there. They use the funnel to transfer it to your gas can.

I've been doing step 2 for 40 years now. No spill.

How often are you draining your portable tank? At the end of the season, so once a year?

I donate my unused boat gas to the local DNR forestry office for drip torch fuel, I let them figure out how to transfer the fuel.:)

Remove motor end fitting from hose.-------Elevate the tank above new container.---------Prime bulb a few times.------Wait for tank to empty by siphon method.-----No smoking allowed.

^^^^^^ That's what I do and my tank has nothing but fumes and maybe a couple of oz. of gas left.

OMC is out of business. Thus, they don't make parts any more. Click on the link in post #7. NOS is all you're going to get.
