Draining block after each use

What are your practices on draining the block/manifold after each use? (assumes freshwater flush is carried out after each use and on raw water cooled engines, especially saltwater).

I have heard logic/argument going both ways, none really on solid ground.....What is your practice and why?

I leave in the flush water

My reason is that Long Island is pretty close to perfect low minerals and pretty Ph friendly
