I have a '89 5.7L Cobra. It was winterized with antifreeze in it. I found the two drains on the manifolds and the 2 on the block. is there a valve or anything between the motor and the drive? does the drive have a drain? thanks.

Im trying to understand your post........
If the boat was winterized with antifreeze and the drain plugs are in, manifold and block.
Put the boat in the water and just go!
The water from the bay, river or what have you ,will mix and flush the antifreeze
out along with the cooling water......
:)

Ayuh,..... I guess you're Not a Fisherman,.. huh,..??

Ayuh,... There's a P/S Cooler between the drive,+ the motor....
The drive drains by gravity,.. No valves...
Make sure all the hoses are reconnected,+ clamped...

Yea, that ought to be good for the fish, we all need to flush out the antifreez at the dock.

Just heading to the water and go is a really unwise thing to do. That is why there are so many problems at boat ramps. People just drag a boat out of storage and put it in the water, then find it overheats, doesn't start, won't shift, can't steer it, and all sorts of other things.
Starting it at home on muffs to make sure it works and all the systems work is what you are supposed to do, a long with some other preventive maintenance, not just stick it in the water and go ......................... Geeezzzzzz.

Hopefully it was non-toxic antifreeze. In any case, I always start my boat in the driveway before I take it out.

Yep, that was the point. drained antifreeze at home so I could run it on muffs first.
