I am having a heck of a time cracking the screw loose on the lower unit of my 110 johnson. What can I do to make it a little easier, I heard you can heat it? Second, when changing the oil I heard you fill from the bottom screw?

Any outboard mechanic would have an impact screwdiver. An absolute must if you plan to work on your own motor. It has a cam inside that rotates the blade when you swat the end with a hammer. Sears has them, as well as all the major tool distributors. And Harbor Freight. Beware, some of the el cheapo imports are junk.

I haven't worked on many engines but I believe some even have a rubber gasket/ring around the screw? (I believe I worked on an old Evinrude that did)

If that is the case and I don't know for sure, you most certainly wouldn't want to heat it unless you have a replacement gasket/ring

forty,

Yes, you fill through the bottom drain. Simple pump the oil into that hole until it starts to leak out through the vent hole. Ensure you have the leg vertical doing this so you add sufficient oil to the lower unit
