My boat has sat for about 6 years in a barn. After ordering a number of the parts, I want to drain the oil. I bought one of these guys cheap on ebay

Being the motor hasn't ran in a while, I cant start up the engine to warm up the oil.... and I cant get much oil out with the pump. Any suggestions to warm up the oil or things to mix with the oil to get it out better? thanks

I have never seen (or had use for one, Thank God) but I hear there is an electric heating wand people use in the far up north that goes down the dipstick tube to keep their oil warm during epic blizzards and freezing..perhaps??

OR...what about a couple big lightbulbs laid in the bilge under the oil pan for a day or two with the doghouse on?

Ahh! suck out what you can with that and place a small bowl under the bilge and pull the drain plug to get whats left. Easy breezy

First of all, I'd be more worried about the pistons being stuck to the cylinder walls, sitting all that time. I agree with cheapboatkev, heat the bilge with acouple of lightbulbs, and get as much oil out as you can. Then refill and see if it will crank. The carb is probably so gummed up, it won't start. That'l be your next problem.
