I've looked for 2 days and can't find the drawing on here about running a 2x2, or somesuch, along the side of a fiberglass boat for the deck to sit on. It was a nice sketch, maybe by woodonglass?. Does anyone remember what thread that was in? I'z a gettin' flustered. It had sawcuts along the wood so it would fit the side contour, then you glassed it in. It had little leader arrows describing each item.

over kill.....the tabbing is so strong that a 300 pounder can jump on the edge....or any other weak spot and it wont affect the boat.

if you foam the boat it will also be much stronger.

or you can add cross support frames on the flat at 2 foot intervals instead of the standard 4 foot.

but all this just adds weight

Is this what r u looking for?

You do not have to use epoxy unless you choose too. It is much more expensive than polyester resin. Here is how I recommend installing a deck. I recommend using Unwaxed Polyester Laminating Resin, 1.5 oz CSM (Chopped Strand Mat) and 1708 Biaxial Cloth. 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" Marine Grade Ply wood. You can use MDO Plywood, or a good grade of Ext. Grade Plywood. Costs will be a factor. www.uscomposites.com is a good online source for materials.

That's close, DeepBlue, thanks.
Thnaks, oops! Tabbing is the way to go. I'll figure out how to do that. Still in the planning stage.
