Drive fluid leaking from water drain holes in outdrive

I just pulled my boat out of storage from the winter. I had My Mercruiser Alpha One outdrive all the way down for the winter. I raised the outdrive to trailering position and drove it 5 miles. I noticed I had outdrive fluid leaking from all the water holes in the bottom of the outdrive: the gear housing water drain hole, the water intake holes for cooling, etc. The fluid in the reservoir was about an inch or so low. I topped it off, and so far it has not leaked out. Is it normal over the winter in the northeast to seep some oil out of the outdrive? If not, can someone tell me what could be leaking to cause the fluid to leak out of these holes? Thanks.

There is no leaking of oil over the winter, sign of a leaking seal.
