Drive oil reserve low

I have a 1996 SeaRay 175 with a Mercruiser 3.0 I/O. Yesterday, after spending most of the day on the lake, I noticed the bottom of my engine compartment was pretty dirty. Looked like a lot of oil. I checked my dip stick and it was on the full mark, but I did notice that my drive oil reserve was low. What else should I check? I was planning on just topping off the reserve and keeping an eye on it. Let me know if I should be concerned.

It could be the fitting for the hose from the reservoir to the transom shield is leaking. It's just a plastic fitting. Or more likely, pull the drive and check the bellows for oil and water. That would be my bet.
Don't use the boat till you find and fix the problem.
