Drive oil wont push through!?!

Im changing the oil in my 98 bayliner that has a 5.0 inboard and Alpha one Gen II out drive. I drained the oil cause the boat has been sittin about 6 years. It was thick and nasty from sitting but it all came out. When I tried to pump new oil in from the bottom hole it took about alittle over a quart and stopped. The upper plug is out and the cap is off the resevore. but it just wont let any more oil push through. Any ideas??

Ayuh,... Are you Sure the pump is working,..??
How much did you pump in,..??

Im not actually using a pump. I putting the bottle up to the hole and pushing it in like I have done with all my other boats. It took a quart and a half and now it wont take anything. its like a little man inside the out drive is pluging the bottle while im trying to push it in. lol

and when I drain the oil out again I can put a small amount of compressed air in the top or bottom hole and it blows through fine. But when you try to fill it with oil it just completly blocks after about a quart and nothing comes out the top hole.

Buy yourself the $6 pump.

Simple solution. Get a pump. Buda Bing! If compressed air passes, so will the drive fluid if you use a decent device to deliver it.

Ok, so I went next door to napa, bought a fluid pump and still the same thing. Bought another different kind of pump and still the same thing. Air will go through both ways, but oil will not. What am I missing here?

Impossible to say, we can't see what you are doing or what kind of pump setup you have.
