Thought i's start a shorter thread on this specific problem
got a problem with the casting hole that accepts the drive shaft seal...
reo;aced seal several times and it still leaks around the metal rim of the seal
Does anyone have any thoughts on resurfacing the inside of the casting hole to accept a larger OD seal?

Locktite threadlocker is your best friend. Unless it is screwed up very badly.

No...it's not too bad.....I'm surprised that it's leaking frankly....
So...I'll try some of what you suggest....
Is that the red stuff or the blue stuff......which one exactly?

some of the Loctite Reds require heat to release...as an opinion I'd wait 24 hours to pressure test after using a sealant...how much pressure are you using to test?...seems like 4psi..8 psi..finishing with 12 psi is what I've been told and that 10 minutes at that final pressure is adequate...also, while doing this test try to make it leak by turning the driveshaft < cw > while shifting...as well as tug on the d/s and prop shaft to assure the seals are working...

Well, thanks....
I may not have waited long enough for the sealant to cure. (3M)
Also, the gauge on this bicycle pump is not very accurate down in the 4 to 8 area....so I may be putting 10 to 12 psi when it says 5 or 6.....
I could also buy another gauge with a lower overall range.
You are very helpful...
thanks
