Drive showers for a bravo 3 do they work?

I'm looking at buying the halo drive shower from simrek Corp. my question is has anybody purchased one for their bravo and do they really work

Define really work . . . Cool the drive? Yes. Make a difference in life or anything noticeable? I've never seen any data, but my first reaction is that Mercruiser would get in on the action if they were necessary. It will definitely help reduce discoloration on the top of the drive, but beyond that I wouldn't add one unless it was really high performance or high load and even then I'd wonder why they weren't at least a factory option, let alone standard.

well i think like this if i sold outdrives the place i would make money is selling parts to fix them such as gears etc.....if i made an item that never broken down than i cant make that much in future sales just like car manufactors but thats just the way i think.....but problem is when i drive on plane the who;e upper unit is out of the water and get drive fluid trying to push out of the overflow ..........they say bravo 3 are one of the hottest running drives temp wise i mean and pushing my boat at over 6300 lbs not including load i was looking for people who have used them and what they had as an outcome

I have seen notes that the pushing out of fluid can be limited by the showers . . . You are definitely in a high load application. My OEM experience (I worked for a CAT dealer for 23 years) is that they want good life first and parts revenue will come no matter what. They do not spend a bunch of dough to significantly increase life because that would require that they raise prices on the new stuff and might put them at a competitive disadvantage. I still believe that if others are making money on their product they would work to get that revenue if they though it was a good thing.
