Driveshaft retainer nut

Need a little help with removing the driveshaft retainer nut. I know about a 100ft/lbs. Hold it in place she stubborn in coming out. I need to remove it to inspect the clutch dog and forward gear, customer also bent the prop shaft hiting bottom.
Heat? Penatrating oil?T Trickof the trade?
If you believe these books everything comes apart with a simple twist.

LOTS of heat on the housing where the bearing carrier 'grabs'. But the 'lots of heat' has to be applied quickly.

I have a catch phrase. Go in fast, hit it hard, get out quick. That SO applies to this job. And have the puller wound up before you start heating, then when it gives (before you reach 660°C) it will move immediately. Stop heating and start winding on the puller before the housing cools enough to grab the carrier again. Good luck.

Cover, not bearing carrier yes... Yeah, I just drill a couple of holes about 2cm apart, knock the piece out and the rest just comes out. New cover is like a few dollars.

The retainer I'm talking about holds the pinion gear in place. About 2" in dia. Found Below the water pump (sea pump).
