A freind of mine is upgrading from 12v to a 24v system on his bass boat. He is going to locate the two batteries under the front deck somewhere. He asked me if I had seen any ready made, drop in comparments for sale anywhere. I told him no, but I never looked for one. Seems like somthing that should be out there, but I haven't been able to find any. Can anyone suggest a source for this product?

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the iboats marine store has battery boxes and battery trays with tiedowns. Scroll to the top of the page and click Marine Store.

I think that the weight of the batteries will negate any drop in solutions. There needs to be some type of support from the bottom.

Re: Drop-In Battery Compartment?

Thanks for the replies. As long as the box is built strong enough it should work. He 's going to build one out of marine grade plywood if he isn't able to buy one ready made. The only problem I see is weight. Two big batteries, plus the box itself is going to be alot of weight in the front of the boat. I'm wondering how it will affect handling.
