I owned a 75-HP Force 1998, which was installed on my boat in 1999 brand new. This engine don't have much time on it, may be 20 to 25 hours a year since installed and in 2002 it ran may be 10 hours.

Since last year I noticed that sometime when I am cruising on water at 4000 RPM or even less or more I feel like what I will call a light missfire, I don't feel any lack of power for take off but I could hear it and if I move to less or more throttle it goes away and will come back. This morning I check the plugs and I noticed very little drops of water of the plug tips and inner surface especially the number 1 and 2, number 3 cylinder doesn't seem to have any. This is not the first time I notice that on the plugs but never pay much attention. Is this could be my problem why I hear or feel that light missfire and what could be the most common cause ?

Thanks !

Momo05

Welcome to iboats.
Water could be condensation.
Could be from water in the gas.
A water separating fuel filter will take care of it.

Thanks Roscoe,

Could it be from head gasket or exhaust port gasket ? I did ck the fuel filter and didn't see any trace of water in it, I ck the content of the fuel filter with coloring paste for water and it didn't change color meaning no water.

I also notice that one of the plug tip start to errode a little bit.

Momo

Could be a head gasket. The head bolts actually loosened up on mine.I would suggest a compression test.
