I have a 1992 15 HP Johnson. Ran good all summer. It sat from Septemeber 2 2010 until November 12 2010. I tried to start it up on November 12, and it fired up for about 6 seconds and then died out. I continued to try to fire it up but no luck. I removed the plugs and replaced them. When i removed the pliugs I noticed tiny drop of water on them. I tried to fire again but no luck even with the new plugs. I noticed the new plugs also had tiny drops of water on them. Any idea what my problem could be? I changed out the gas and still no luck. The only time I can get her to turn over is when I spray starting fluid into the plug holes. When i do this, she starts for a second then dies down. I am a newbie can someone help me? Thank you. The most likely cause is a blown cylinder head gasket #0330818, usually caused by overheating. Less common cause is leaking exhaust gaskets.

And always use fuel mix spray instead of starting fluid. Oil in the fuel is the only oil they get!

Ezeke. What is the number that you post on this post? Is that part number for the head gasket? Thanks to both of you for the help. Do eithe of youthink it is just a case of bad fuel? Trying to nail this down before I go ripping into the engine. Thanks again

The 'run for 6 seconds and died' would point to water intrusion. It ran until water got pumped up and into the cylinders. A faulty head gasket would do just that.
