Drum Brake help needed

I have a Shoreline trailer with Hydraulic brakes. I lost the bearing assemblies on a recent trip when the bearing buddy fell out. The drum is too damaged for re-use as the spindle damaged the section where the bearing buddy will go. Locally all I can find are drums for electric assemblies.

The question:
Will the electric drum assemblies fit the hydraulic set-up?

Good question, I don't know the answer. Can you compare the two side by side? I mean really the only difference should be the actuator. Look on etrailer.com or check with a trailer dealer even if it's a utility trailer dealer they should be able to help you. There isn't that many hub sizes out there.

As long as the diameter and width of the drum is the same, it should work. Of course, the bearing sizes have to be right too.

I have switched my hydraulic brake drums to use electric brake so I don't see why not. I would also be worry about damage to the spindle. If your able to feel a scratch with your fingernail then I would replace the axle.

The spindle damaged the drum..... Plus if the spindle has a scratch it can be polished with emery paper and dosen't need to be replaced. Only if the spindle is so bad that the bearing wont fit snug should you have to replace the axle......
