DT 140 Crankshaft assembly

I have been told that suzuki crankshafts and rods can not be disassembled. But my Clymer shop manual says that 4-cylinder connecting rods can be disassembled. Can anybody tell me if this is true or not?

it depends<br />some,most all I think, inline engines cannot. some of the v4 engines could. but Ackermann marine in wilmington NC has done several inline suzuki and tohatsu cranks for me.<br /> there are several shops in the US that repair built up cranks.

Thanks rodbolt, what is the cost is it worth it? I have a 1984 inline dt140.
