I don?t remember the spark plug gap, I forgot to look in the manual. I think it is 35 to 40 thousands?
I don?t have the manual in front of me but this is pretty close to the actual bleed procedure.

1. Connect the oil tank and fill.
2. Open the bleed nut one turn on the pump (8mm?) and let the oil ooze out all over the inside of the engine compartment getting all over everything and running down the side of the lower engine holder for a week (sorry I got carried away). You can stuff a rag under the pump to catch most of the oil. Leave it open until the air bubbles stop, who knows how long this really takes. I let it come out for about a minute. Close the bleed nut.
3. Mix about ? gallon of fuel at 50:1 and connect the tank to the engine.
4. Start the engine.
5. The manual says to disconnect the oil pump cable and move it to the full open position for one minute. I just held it in the full open position while I ran the engine.
6. The manual says to watch for oil moving in the oil hose going to the fuel vapor separator. The hose on my engine is clouded blue from oil so I can?t see anything. I let the engine run for two minutes instead of one and called it good.

I certainly don?t mind helping you out but you really need the Suzuki shop manual. Heck, you may have one on the way. It will make your life so much easier and there is tons of information in there. It?s a little pricy at $65 +/- but that is nothing compared to the cost of owning a boat! You can get one from iBoats, maybe eBay, Browns Point Marine, etc.

I have a 1987 DT140 and was looking for a used manual, are there any out there? I tried the library with no luck.

Please, do yourself a huge favor and buy the real deal Suzuki manual just for your engine. It is worth the extra money.

1: Remove oil feed pipe from pump, fill oil tank, let all the air
bleed out of the pipe, attach pipe to pump.

2: There is a bleed screw on the oil pump, looks like a bolt but also
has a screw slot. Open it, blow down the oil tank filler cap until oil
runs out and then do it up again.

3: Run on half a tank of premix so you can be sure the pipes to the
inlet manifolds have bled themselves.

If number 3 worries you, you can pull the pipes off the manifold
fittings, plug the fittings (a piece of clamped hose will do) and run
in a tank until oil pukes out of the pipes, then re-fit.

You may have push on or banjo fittings at the manifold, if the latter
the pipes are clear and you can see the oil in the pipes.
