DT 225 1991 New value

I have just bought four in the crate 1991 Suzuki DT-225 HP 225.0 6 cyl, 2 stroke with a Gear Ratio of 1.86:1 and 4 1985 Yamaha 225 HP from an estate sale. All but tow are still in the original packaging, but I opened two to see if they would start. They did on the first try. Because they were in plastic and in crates, they are like showroom new. I have not found any problems with the rubber or metal.

I have looked but can not find a value for the units in the current condition. Can anyone direct me to a site to get a value. One man has offered me $5,000.00 for the Suzuki and $6,000.00 for the others as is. I only paid 250 each for them last week.

I'm no expert on these motors and in such new condition yet over 15 year old, but I'd guess eBay would certainly give you an idea. I've seen recently an 77 v6 150hp Merc for sale that looked in excellent condition but had some mechanical repairs done on it and a new paint job on it and it looked like new, was selling "buy it now" for $2399. guaranteed it to be running and not DOA. So I figure the guy offering you is lowballing you if I understand your story that he was offering you that for the lot of Suzuki and Yamaha, but if it was each, jump on it would be my reaction. Wish I'd been at the estate sale myself.. I need a Suzuki, mine is an 87 but not running presently....:'(
