Dt-6 Suziki. Water pump question

After installing a new water pump impeller in a DT-6 Suzuki I noticed week or no water flow at idle until reved up 1/4 of more with the water level above the water pump. When you fill the barrel water level above the shift shaft inspection hole it will pump week at idle and real good above that. Is this normal or a sign that there is a leak in the pipe gromet or someting else. <br /><br />Thanks, Pat

Their doesn't appear to be a lot of Suz experts to answer questions on this site so all I can do is share my experience. My DT-6 is kinda new - less than 20 hours - and at idle it's a sputtering sort of flow. Warm but not hot temp. So yours might be normal.<br /><br />Let's hope an expert takes up the thread so we can all learn.
