I have a 1990 dt65 that I have cleaned the carbs ,rebuilt the fuel pump, new plugs, new throttle relay.sensor, new gas tank and lines all the way thru it has got alot better with every thing I change but it sometimes will throttle up perfect but after about 100 yds it looses about 1500 rpm and sounds like it is bogging down but it will still stay up on plane and run great it just will not come up to full rpm and stay there and it is burning twice the fuel as my sons 1990 70 hp yamaha ,the motor runs great idles perfect it is just when you throw the fuel to it ,if it runs throttles up like it should it will start bogging down after about 100 yds and it has a funny sound to it like it is either flooding or choking it self to death.I also took the oiler off as the tank got a crack in it in storage all 3 cylinders are at 125psi

Pull the plugs immediately when it's acting up. Look for overly wet plugs.

Re: DT 65 full throttle problem

It is unlikely that it is a too much fuel problem unless someone has put the wrong carbs or wrong jets in. Most likely it is fuel starvation. Try a different fuel tank, yours may have a blockage . It could be that there is a leak in the line between the tank and the bulb. This would allow air into the system and the fuel supply would be poor. Recently had a case where an inline fuel filter was fitted bassacward. The check valve in the filter restricted the flow at high speed. The Suzuki usually has a cup filter but maybe someone has fitted an inline. The electronics on the Suzuki's are so reliable that it is unlikely that it is a timing problem.

I always suspect a new fuel line etc. I have had bad experiences with poor fittings and lines. The Fitting on the hose at the motor could be your problem unless it is an OEM.
