High all, I had a mechanical inspection done on a boat that I am looking to purchase. The surveyor said that when he ran it on muffs the idle was all over the place and that it sounded as if it were going to stall. He squeezed the primer and it would come normal. he mentioned it happened a few times and he finally let it stall. Engine started right up again, but with the same issue. Could this be a symptom of a faulty fuel diaphram? (forgot to mention that the boat has been sitting out of the water for months and has been fogged.) Any thoughts? Thanks

most likly clogged carbs. mikuni's dont like to sit at all. very nice carbs but rather intolerant of anything. if all else checks out rebuild the carbs and the pumps. also find out the last t-stat and impeller service.

Thanks for the recommendation Robolt, I prob. should have mention this, but I beleive the engine is EFI.....So there shouldn't be any carbs right?

BTW, I was looking at an old post of yours and I see that you were an FC in the Navy. I was too, what was your system?
