I just picked up an 87 DT65 motor and this is the first engine we've had with an oil injection system. My dad and his buddy and their buddies "have heard bad things" about oil injection in general and want to disable it. I like the idea of using the injection and don't want to disable it until after I find a good reason to. I did a few searches on google and here but didn't find more than a couple of comments where people "think" the Suzuki injection is good, but no solid answers. Could some long-time Suzuki owners, especially of motors from the late 80s, please post some reviews/opinions on the matter? Opinions/advice on the motor overall are welcome too, as this is the first of this breed we've worked with.

Also: Are Suzuki/Yamaha sister brands like Nissan/Tohatsu or Johnson/Evinrude, or did they just get lumped together in same the forum for other reasons?

Thanks all,

Nick
