Re: dt65 problems with monitor
I solved half of the problem, the pink and the green/yellow in the cdi box needs to be swaped leave the green yellow going to the monitor loose. that will give you proper temp light. but have not yet figured out what to do with the red or the yellow at the monitor. I figure that the yellow is tach, but where does the red go, probaly to the pink at the cdi box. i only have the wiring diagram for my year, 89 , will have a later wiring diagram in the morn so hope to know more then.
it has been fun to work on this thing over the years. but it has been a reasonably good motor. had to change the head and thermostat housing once due to corrosion around the botton cylinder, only broke four bolts.she would not pee. full carb rebuild twice, and annual impeller change. i just found out that the thing had a buzzer while playing with the monitor and yes it to is bad, will order on monday.
that said i am happy with the motor, but have found local dealer support lacking. the failure to stock simple parts like impellers, and gross incompetance/ inadiquite tooling no test tank/ no test props. had to take it back to the dealer twice to set the carbs after rebuild, then did it myself. the dealer was trying to set the carbs with muffs.
one warning i just replace my muffs, could not find the old set, and she would not flow any water. replaced the impeller, still no water. took it back down again to see what i did wrong, everything was fine, the damn muff was too loose and not sending any water to the pump even though it was flooding the driveway.
