My 1980 DT65 has developed a problem. It is running very rich at idle, and it's hard to start. I put a new set of plugs in it today and I still could not get it to idle for more than 30-40 seconds. I pulled the brand new plugs out and they are black and wet.

I installed new carb kits yesterday, idled good for about 30 minutes. I shut it off and went to restart it and it would not start, it just flooded.

Re: DT65 Running Very Rich

That's what I was thinking. I took the pump off and the diaphragms LOOK ok. How small of a leak would cause problems?? I held the diaphragms up to a bright light and could not see a tear or hole.

The diaphragm is cheap so I'll change it just because. There may be a leak right at the metal ring in the center that I just cant see. Anything else that would cause a way over rich idle??
