the boots on my '86 fall off after some high rpm use, most of the time it is the bottom cyl, but the other two do it as well. can i get new wires/boots without the coil, would something automotive work??
thanks in advance.

Re: dt85 spark plug wires.

you can replace the boots but not the wires on the coils. you could try putting a plastic wire tie on them to snug them up.

i tried that, it seems that the spring has loosend?
how would i replace the boots, and if that dosent work what should i expect to pay for a coil?
i tried to take the boots off, but i dont know how much force needs to be applied. also there is no suzuki dealer near here, and i hate to do something that would put the boat out now. i have a tourney next week, and i CAN run now.
thanks again.

Which kind of plug boots do you have, the soft rubber ones with the coil inside or the hard ones. If you have the soft rubber ones with the coil that grips the plug you can squeeze the coil through the rubber a bit with some pliers and tighten up the grip. If you have theo hard ones I don't know.
