I have the batt 1 & 2 setup (On, 1, 2, both) and I was curious about any pros/cons to this setup versus a setup with a dedicated engine and house batt where you could use the batt switch and ACR from Blue Sea.
I've thought about converting over the Blue Sea system to keep the house circuit on its own batt and so during engine startup you don't get any voltage drop issues with any of the electronics and stuff.
Thoughts?

I run the Blue Seas system and find it superior in that I don't have to play silly games with the battery selector.

I get in the boat and turn the switch ON. Get out of the boat and turn the switch OFF.

As far as voltage drop at start up. A good, fully charged battery will not dip enough to reset most electronics. If they are dropping out, good chance your battery is not quite up to snuff. I've always used the phenomenon as a signal to start looking for new batteries.

The down side is that the house battery will not get charged unless you have enough running time to recharge them. If your the type that runs 5 minutes out to the sandbar, plays the radio all afternoon, then runs 5 minutes back to shore, you will gain nothing with the conversion
