I bought the dual battery switch and it came today, fast shipping! It looks like just the positive wires hook up to it. Where do I hook the negative wires? To the batteries?

Yes. You can hook the neg cable from the engine harness to neg of one battery and a jumper cable to the neg of the other battery.

there are several different wiring configurations, depending on what you want to accomplish. go to the manufacturers site, and there should be several diagrams with directions.

Ok so the positives go to the switch and the negative for the motor to one of the batteries negative and a jumper between the two batteries. I take it that all other negative wires just go to the negative on one of the batteries then. Right?

This is going in a 18' Smokercraft, aluminum, walk-through fishing boat. If it matters??? Fishing is the main (95%) use for this boat.

No need to run all the negative (ground) wires from accessories to one of the batteries. Your fuse/breaker panel should have a ground buss on it. Connect grounds from forward accessories there.

The dual battery switch is for the positive cables only. I left my negative cables grounded to the same point on the motor. As far as the switch goes, two positives in, one positive out to alternator.
