Dual Temp senders to one temp sender?

I just replace my thermostat housing from old style to new. The original housing mounted 2 temp senders. The new housing mounts the second sender at a different angle and it hits the intake manifold. My understanding is that the 2nd sender is for a dual console boat which I don't have. If I leave the 2nd sender off, do I connect its wire to the single sender or just leave it loose?

As on my boat 1 is a gauge sender and the other an overheat alarm.

Thanks to the both of you. I'll pull the housing and see if I can get the other one to fit.

You may not have to install it on the housing if it's a problem. Maybe Mr. Bond can help you relocate it if necessary.

Good Luck!

Ayuh,... There May, or may not be a 1/2" water port in the intake manifold for it....;)

Thanks again guys. I got the 2nd sender on by pulling the housing and tightening the sender down real hard. I should have put a ring terminal pigtail on it first. There's about 1/16" between the stud and manifold.

One more question... Is there a standard free play length for the check balls? The distance from the ball to the nut on either side?
