I keep my boat about 2 hours away, and at the end of last season I was in a hurry( I know) and apparently forgot to drain one of the sides on my merc 233. I found this out yesterday when checking up on everything and noticed my freeze plugs lying in the bilge. If the block is indeed cracked and I have to go through all of the trouble of pulling the engine again was thinking about a stroked 393 or 408. Anyone have experience with this conversion, is it simply changing the crank , would this be too much for a pre alpha?
thanks

Re: dumb me

:$:%That sucks!.....
300 hp for an Alpha......
Wouldn't it be way cheaper to just get a new short block?.......
The 351 is allready at 260 or so......
I guess it would depend on how heavy-handed you are........JK

Ayuh,........
I gotta believe that a 351 Ford is Hammering that drive as Hard as a 350 Chevy does,.........

A Good Build of the 351 will be Plenty,.......
You Really Don't Need Anymore HorsePower...........

Not if you expect Any kind of Reliability..........
