Dumb question about pulling tube

I have a 16 ft Key West CC with a 70 Yamaha. It's really more of a fishing boat. My 12 yo son is interested in being pulled on a tube. Is there a special rig for the back of the boat that keeps the tow rope away from the motor?

Yep. There is a harness that has a hook on each end that attaches to the two transom tiedown hooks. There is another hook that is on a sliding pulley that usually has a float on it and that's where the tube hooks up.
