Here's a couple pics of the 3 dungeness crabs I caught the other day. Here they are, freshly steamed and ready to be eaten.

One was 8" across and the other two around 7".

Yep, I love dungeness, and these one's were delicious!

I like the rock crabs too, the large one's have great claw meat. Not much on the legs though like the dungies.

Can't wait to get back out there and set my traps.

There is a guy in Port Alberni that does charter salmon tours. Sets the traps for you as a bonus...

Much better than the bar crabs...

I need to spend more time in BC and take advantage of that bounty...

yeah, not much meat in legs on the rock crab, but they are mostly what I end up catching since we're dropping nets around the outside of a rock jetty. I'd rather catch dungeness like in those pictures any day.

Trendsetter, Nice Dungies!!
I can't wait until the crab season opens in July down here in Puget Sound.
Just getting my rig-ready, have alot of my fresh frozen bait in the freezer.
What kind of bait did you use and how deep in the water??

These ones were caught in about 80ft of water. I use commercial crab bait and cut up dogfish sharks that I catch when fishing. The combination seems to work well.
