Looking at a 2014 Chaparral with 8.1 GiC engine and Duoprop drive, 100hrs. Seller says drive is ready for its first service.

I don't own VP manuals, I'm a Merc guy, so what does "first service" entail on a late model Duoprop? Approx cost?

Thanks.

They would probably drain the oil, pull the drive and inspect the bellows and gimbal and check the alignment. Providing all was good they would grease the shafts reinstall the unit, check shift linkage adjustment and refill with new oil. Probably something you could do if you had a drive cart to hold the drive. If the drive has never been removed, it should probably be checked just in case water has intruded.

Thanks, Birch. So pretty much same as Merc service, good to know.

It's a 264 Sunesta, looks like I am following in your footsteps. 243 is same as a 254.
