Durabak Floor Coating??

Got on the web site for "Durabak" but wonder how well it will clean up after a day of fishing etc. Seems there is a good chance that the "textured" surface would be hard to scrub to get clean. Looks like it would tend to hold dirt etc. I don't want to apply it and not be happy with how it cleans up. Anyone out there that has used it for decking?

Also, applying gel coat to get a non slip / textured surface? Any methods that work?

If it's anything like the Rhino lining in my truck, dirt will not be a problem. Mine cleans up with a spray hose and looks as good as the day it was applied.
Can't comment on gel coat issue.

If you use this stuff make sure you buy the UV resistant type. I used white with the textured rubber and wish I had used the plain or added my own sand for texture, is a bit on the over kill for non skid. Clean up is also affected by the non skid but is not imposible. A good dousing of chlorox and any stain is gone. So far it is holding up very well to my abuse.

Re: Durabak Floor Coating??

I think I will opt to use something other than Durabak etc. I got a sample and think it's too rough. I might try to thicken up a whit gel coat and roll it on with a textured roller. Will try a sample piece first. Any other suggestions from the members?

Not too sure on the textured roller application for gel coat. I think it would be self-leveling until the gel started to kick, then you would have a VERY short window to do the rolling. But, it never hurts to experiment, let us know how your sample works out!

I have the Durabak coating on my boat and it cleans up really easily. A little laundry detergent, water and a scrub brush and your in buisness.
