Hi All,

I have carpeting in my boat,it's beat up for the most part and I just want to get rid of it. I've done some reading and it seems like this Durabak stuff is pretty good.

Has anyone had experience with it, and does it look pretty even and clean when applied properly?

Also, can vertical surfaces be painted as well. I have a bayliner open bow and the carpet runs up the inside of the hull. Would this stuff work there or is there a better alternative for the walls and boxes for the seats?

As the stuff has pieces of rubber included in the mix, it doesn't look very comfortable for bare feet.

Check this thread out he said it feels fine on his feet but he also installed snap in carpet. When I redo my deck I plan on encapsulating the wood in duraback(instead of laying fiberglass)on all sides and installing snap in carpet. I would purchase a 50/50 of the smooth duraback and non skid and mix them together for more comfort.

Hi,

I think the stuff is great!

Used it on the resto-mod project linked below.

If I did it again, I would have only used first coat textured, and following two coats smooth. The texture holds dirt, but is easily cleaned with brush/soap and water...

The stuff is very strong and durable...

The white is very bright in the sun, so a slight tint would have been better...

I give the stuff an 8.5 on the 10 scale...
