hello all,

i have been revamping a 22 supersport and am looking ahead to putting a vinyl floor in. i found and acquired some duradek. now apparently it is only avaiable to distributors and such... i tried to call several people to see what type of glue is used - they refused to tell me. hahaha.... i felt like a criminal with this stuff.

so my question is this, anybody use it? I'm going to whether you like it or not as I paid for it already lol. what type of glue (contact adhesive?) should i use. i know people will suggest to use only duradek glue but i'm sure its a fortune, not the only stuff that will work and is an overhyped contact adhesive... its going onto of sheets of olypane a special finished plywood - i think its at olypanel.com. thanks for the help!!!!

Re: DuraDek, do's and don't...?

From what I understand DuraDek is pretty much the same thing as Nautolex Marine vinyl which is what I installed in my boat. I used Nautolex's adhesive which is pricey but works really well. I used a little over a gallon on my 18' to do the deck and some areas in the bow and side pockets. You may very well need 2 gallons for your boat. I didn't shop around specifically for the best prices on the adhesive but the best price on the vinyl was from here: http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|10918|311409|311410&id=23803 perhaps you can find a better deal. I'm extremely pleased with my vinyl deck.
