See post below this one. Reply #6 that is the boat that I looked at. Notice how he jacked the price up on the relisting after I gave him some info on the boat. He did not have a clue as to who made it untill I quized him heavily. The trailer was pretty rusty underneath as it has been parked on grass all its life from what I could tell." nice looking boat" dam pictures on Craigs always make the product look pristine. I drove a over 1000 miles in the last month or so looking at boats that had pics posted and the owner gave the impression that they were in great shape etc.The boat would be okay as beater but not for restoring. My take, the Telflex steering was the highlight being rather new, then the trailer and the boat last.

My bet is a 16 foot Sealine Runabout Deluxe, late 50's. Forerunner of the Neptune and model change. Would take a 50 or 60 hp.

Is it just me, or does that trailer look to have fisher-price size tires?

ah ok Mr88. that is the boat you were describing... yeah i will not go see it. seems there are a few Duratechs around the Rochester area. if you find one and you want me to look at it for you, let me know. I am less than an hour drive from Livonia, and the general Finger Lakes area. I live on the south shore of Lake Ontario, so there are a lot of old boats around here. even Buffalo is about an hour away.

PM me or otherwise get in touch and i can go look for you. I don,t need another boat so I am not competition:)
You are right about pics. some people are pros at making junk look fantastic from 20 feet.

Thanks 'Labatts' man.I drove out by the Rochester Airport to look at a boat and the motor was what I was after. I ask the guy if the transom is 20" and he measures it while I am on the phone, yep. I get there and it turns out he had not ran that motor on that boat yet. Good thing for the motor as it was a short shaft, thats what I have been running into with some of these yahoo's.I am going to look at a 1954 MFG tonight or tommorow morn to restore. I live halfway between Batavia and Buffalo off Rt 5. I will keep your offer in mind as I may be in search of a engine for her.
