JB, they have gotten so darn cheap, they are now
a throw away item. unless u need special features,
just buy the cheapest one you can find. if it
breaks in a year or 2, just get another one.
see them for $89 all over the place and will only
get cheaper down the road.

Hey JB,

Feel adventurous???

You might find the answer to your problem here:
DVD Problems ....

The details outlined are not really machine specific as most use similar transport-loader drives. ;)

Don't use those lens scratchers they sell at Wallyworld. They scratch the lens. Think about it, you hit it with a paintbrush a few dozen times and expect a laser beam 1/30th the size of a human hair to reliably pass through?

Nah, take the cover off and use a very soft cloth or que tip and rubbing alcohol to clean it.
